Pokerouge Endless Mode Item Priority Guide

Understanding Item Priority

Item selection in Endless Mode can make or break your run. This guide provides a comprehensive tier system from S-tier (must-have) to D-tier (nice-to-have) items, plus special mechanics for optimal farming.

Key Principles:

  • S-tier items define Endless Mode's core gameplay
  • A-tier items are essential for efficient farming
  • B-tier items significantly reduce difficulty
  • C-tier items provide specific benefits
  • D-tier items are optional quality-of-life improvements

S-Tier Items (Must-Have)

Locked Container

The ultimate Endless Mode item. This item dramatically shortens the process of acquiring key items, making it the most crucial item in the mode.

How It Works

Allows you to lock items in shops, preventing them from being replaced when refreshing. Essential for building your ideal item set.

Always take this item when you see it - it's irreplaceable!

Usage Strategy

Use to lock red/pink quality items when you encounter them, then refresh to find more high-quality items.

Gene Wedge

Enables unique fusion mechanics by binding two Pokémon together. The first Pokémon 'eats' the second, combining their attributes, abilities, and move pools.

Fusion Mechanics

Retains first Pokémon's primary type and hidden ability, second Pokémon's secondary type and ability. Base stats are averaged between both Pokémon.

Example

Mega Blastoise with Sturdy hidden ability + Miraidon = Water/Dragon type with Sturdy hidden ability and Hadron Engine ability.

Important Warning

Don't try gimmicks like Sturdy Shedinja - Sturdy won't trigger at 1 HP. The author learned this the hard way!

This item only appears when needed and stops appearing after 5 Pokémon are already bound.

Special Item Mechanics

Perfume Strategy

Perfume enables double battles, which provide double experience but increased difficulty. Requires careful team assessment.

Double Battle Trigger

When 3 or more unstacked perfumes are present, non-boss floors (non-10-multiple floors) will always be double battles.

Double battles = Double experience and double shiny encounter rates!

Optimal Strategy

Maintain exactly 3 perfumes on the field for maximum efficiency. Choose red (25 turns) and blue perfumes over green.

Watch out for stacking! At 5 turns remaining with green perfume or 10 turns with blue perfume, they'll stack and break the 3-perfume requirement.

Candy Usage

Regular and Super Rare Candy have minimal differences despite different rarities. Don't be fooled by the gold color.

When to Use

Only use candy after Candy Jar reaches at least 20 stacks, perfumes are maxed, and no gacha vouchers are available.

Level advantage helps easily progress through 3000 floors

Priority

Candy is always the lowest priority choice since level overflow becomes ineffective after 3000 floors.

Evolution Items

Includes Mega Stones, Evolution Stones, Dynamax Mushrooms, and unique transformation items.

Strategy

Take when needed (highest priority), or take when not needed to avoid polluting the item pool.

Gold Items

Gold-related items have higher priority in early game when you need startup funds.

Early Game

Higher priority - you need more money as startup capital.

Late Game

Value inflation far exceeds shop refresh cost inflation, making gold mostly overflow.

Items to Avoid

Terastal Orb

NEVER take Terastal Orbs! They're useless in Endless Mode and will pollute your item pool.

Why to Avoid

  • Terastalization has minimal impact in Endless Mode
  • Time-limited effect is not useful for farming
  • Various Terastal Orbs will pollute your item pool without restraint
  • No strategic value for progression or farming

Priority Summary

Before Core Items Complete

Focus on acquiring essential items first.

Priority Order:

Core Items > Gacha Vouchers > Gold > Others

After Core Items Complete

Focus on optimization and farming efficiency.

Priority Order:

Candy Jar > Gacha Vouchers > Perfume (maintain 3) > Rare Candy > Others

This tier list is absolutely perfect! I was always confused about what to prioritize, but the S-tier explanation for Locked Container and Gene Wedge makes total sense. Locked Container really is the foundation of everything.

The Gene Wedge section saved me from making a huge mistake! I was about to try Sturdy Shedinja - thank you for the warning! The fusion mechanics explanation is crystal clear now.

The perfume strategy is brilliant! I never understood why I wasn't getting double battles consistently. The 3-perfume rule and stacking warning are game-changers. Red perfume for 25 turns is definitely the way to go.

THANK YOU for the Terastal Orb warning! I've been taking them thinking they were useful, but they're just polluting my item pool. This guide saved me from so many bad runs!

The candy usage section is spot on. I was wasting candy too early before Candy Jar was stacked. Now I wait until 20+ stacks and the difference is incredible. Level overflow is real!
